ACOCA Coffee(500 W College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911):

Acoca has been roasting their own coffee longer than anyone in the area. They offer great single origin options as well as some blends all roasted in house. In January 2021 they expanded their space and have added some great food options. When I visited, I had a Cold Brew flight that consisted of a Cold Brew, Cold Brew Au Lait, Nitro Cold Brew, and Cold Brew Float. You can see my Facebook post here.

All Tied Up Floral Cafe(324 E. College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911):

Serving New Morning Coffee as well as baked daily in house pastries, smoothies, breakfast, and lunch options. Part coffee shop and part flower shop. Inside is a modern yet comfortable design with an eclectic collection of products for sale. On my visit I saw socks, cheeky hand sanitizer, lots of Stonewall Kitchen products, cute home decor signage, and a wide selection of greeting cards. Truly a unique shop in downtown Appleton, a place filled with lots of coffee shops. Read my Facebook write up and see more pictures here.

Bagelicious(101 E College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911): Serves Uncommon Grounds Coffee from Appleton. Primarily a bagel shop obviously, but you always need coffee.

Brewed Awakenings(107 E College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911): Serves Contrast Coffee out of Iron River, MI.

Copper Rock(210 W. College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911): Serves their own in house roasted coffee. A downtown Appleton favorite. Come for coffee and lunch, stay for the Gelato! Multiple locations in the area!

Happy Bellies(2107 N Richmond St, Appleton, WI 54911): Serves Black Pearl out of Oshkosh, WI. Primarily a Gluten Free all natural bakery, but also offer a nice variety of coffee drinks with house-made syrups and organic beans.

Jo To Go(3419 N Richmond St, Appleton, WI 54911): Serves New Morning Coffee, a wholesale roaster out of Appleton, WI. The area’s last remaining Drive thru coffee stand. Proudly using Lamer’s Dairy milk.

Lawlss (233 E College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911): The newest shop in Downtown Appleton opened in late April of 2022. This is the third Lawlss shop, Sturgeon Bay and Neenah are the other two. Lawlss roasts their own beans up in their Door Country shop. Lawlss is a specialty shop serving a high end, well thought out and executed menu. If you’re curious about what Specialty Coffee is, check out Lawlss.

Moon Water Cafe (606 N. Lawe St, Appleton, WI 54911): Sweet little shop serving Acoca Coffee as well as local beer and other goods, including fresh made pastries. Lovely patio area in the warmer months that is reminiscent of sitting out on a friend’s porch.

Pawffee Shop Cat Lounge(1745 N Casaloma Dr, Appleton, WI 54913): Serves LaJava out of Green Bay, WI for drip coffee and Terra Verde out of Chilton, WI for their espresso. The area’s only Cat cafe, a trend around the country. Come for a cup of coffee and snuggle up with adoptable kitties.

Seth’s Coffee (1390 Popp Ln, Appleton, WI 54914):

Serves Intelligentsia Coffee and Ruby Roasters. Their most recent expansion, in the old All Season’s location on the West side of Appleton. Offering Drive Thru service as well as indoor dining. Full food menu including their signature variety of Quiche and house made baked goods.

Read the Facebook post about my visit here.

Seth’s Coffee Drive Thru(323 E Washington St, Appleton, WI 54911): Serves Intelligentsia Coffee and Ruby Roasters. A drive thru extension of their full cafe in Little Chute. One of the OGs in the area for craft coffee and baked goods.

Tempest Coffee Collective(181 South Riverheath Way #1100, Appleton, WI 54915): Serves Olympia Coffee out of Washington State. Tucked in The RiverHeath buildings right along the Fox River, this high end shop changes its menu with the season, but the attention to detail in their drinks and food never changes.

Uncommon Grounds(958 S Westland Dr, Appleton, WI 54914): Serves their own in house roasted coffee. Primarily a roaster, but does have a small cafe space in the front and would be glad to make you a drink and talk all things coffee.

Voyageurs(201 W College Ave, Appleton, WI 54911):

Just like their original Green Bay location, they serve Coffee Wizardz coffee. They have even added in tap lines to serve their famous Nitro Draft Lattes and Cold Brew. There isn’t any baking done here on this premise, but you can get a wide variety of fresh baked breads and pastries just like you do at the bakehouse. They opened this location in December and so far they have had several different Espresso Tonics featured on their seasonal menus. I’m personally really hoping that trend continues as it is my favorite drink. They are open Tuesday-Saturday from 8am-2pm.

You can check out more pictures and information by reading my Facebook post I did after my opening day visit. Additionally, I did I write up for Nosh Fox Valley about their Spring ‘22 menu, check it out here.

Whisk & Arrow (1915 N Richmond St, Appleton, WI 54914):

Known primarily as one of the area’s premier bakeries, Whisk also offers a top tier coffee program as well. They feature a extensive menu of classic coffeehouse drinks as well as a rotating selection of other creative choices. My favorite is the Mazagran which is an espresso lemonade. What really sets them apart from many area shops is the fact that all of their syrups are made in house using actual ingredients, such as actual hazelnuts to make their hazelnut syrup.

I wrote a feature about a few of their Summer seasonal drinks in 2022. You can read that here. I have also used their Chai and Cold Brew Concentrates in making drinks featured in Appleton Magazine. They serve JUST Coffee Coop our of Madison for all of their drinks.

Freedom

B’s Brew(N4083 County Rd E Suite A, Freedom, WI 54130):

Serving Messenger Coffee out of Kansas City, MO. Also offers a wide variety of lattes, pastries, and sandwiches. Check them out on Facebook.

Green Bay Area

Coffee Wizardz (536 Green Ave Allouez, WI 54301):

Coffee Wizardz has taken their success of serving their amazing Cold Brew Lattes from their coffee bike at all of the local markets as well as at Voyageurs Bakehouse and turned it into their own shop in Allouez. This is a small neighborhood shop doing big things with coffee. You can order their beans from their website and you won’t be disappointed, but you should really do yourself a favor and check them out in person. You’ll be hard pressed to find another shop like this one. They are open Tues-Sat from 7am-2pm.

Check out the write up I did for Nosh Green Bay here.

Voyageurs Sourdough(340 N Broadway # 110, Green Bay, WI 54303):

Serving Coffee Wizardz out of Green Bay. Not only do they serve Coffee Wizardz, but one of the owners of Coffee Wizardz is the one actually serving it. There is a small menu of coffee drinks as this is primarily a bakehouse, but they do offer up some seasonal selections as well. Coffee Wizardz got their start doing Pop Ups in the Milwaukee area serving creative coffee drinks and mocktails. They ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to purchase a roaster so that they could have further control over the beverages they were creating. They now roast in Green Bay and offer their coffee beans online, at Voyageurs, and at GB area farmers markets. Check out my Facebook Post for more details. Oh yeah, you HAVE to get some bread too!

They also offer what they call an All-Day Brunch menu, where you will find a variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups.

il Bar Coffeehouse (100 S Birch St Suite A, Kimberly, WI 54136):

A new addition to Kimberly, absolutely lovely inside. This European Style cafe features more of an international menu than you’ll typically find in our area. They carry coffees that are roasted right in Puerto Rico where they are grown. You may be unfamiliar with some of the names of the coffee and pastries, but that won’t matter once you try them. Check out my full write up and more photos on Facebook.

Bedrock Coffee Roasters (214 W. Cecil St.

Neenah, WI 54956):

Bedrock is a small specialty roaster. They are not a coffee shop, but as of Dec ‘21 the local Farmers Market was successful enough that they have decided to open up the shop daily from 8-1pm serving brewed coffee.
